Assignment:

Your counselors will be visiting you in the next couple of weeks during to help you get registered for next year’s classes. Today, we will review the courses offered by the Center for Computer Studies Magnet Program, and I will be happy to answer any questions you may have about what classes are available to you once you have completed Computer Graphic Design, and what classes might best suit your interests and goals.

We will be conducting tours this week to show you the wide range of computer classes that you have available to you, and to allow you to meet the instructors and give them a chance to introduce their classes to you. There will also be “Breakout Sessions” on Wednesday, January 24th during which you will be able to travel to classes that interest you to learn more about what they have to offer to you.

Illustrator Week 2: Yellow Submarine

Objective:

To learn and demonstrate an understanding of the use of drawing tools in Adobe Illustrator.

Assignment:

Submarine

 

Create a new Illustrator Web landscape-oriented document with all the default settings and one artboard. Using the pen tool and techniques demonstrated in the videos and discussed in class, draw the yellow submarine in the picture above. A copy of the image is provided in the link below to use as a reference. Be sure to use closed shapes to make parts of the sub that need to be filled in with color, and use the Object -> Arrange menu to change whether objects are in front or in back of each other. Do your best to make your sub look like the one in the picture, but if you want to change the fill colors, you may do so. (for example, the sub doesn’t necessarily need to be yellow).
