InDesign Pre-Test 2023

Welcome to our InDesign unit! Today we will begin learning about the Adobe software suite, and the properties of the InDesign page layout software. But before we can get started, it’s helpful for me to know how much you already know about Design and design software.

Objective:
I can complete the InDesign pre-test by logging into Google Classroom and answering the pre-test questions to the best of my ability, so that I can see how much I know about InDesign, and how much I have to learn.

Assignment:

  • Visit my Google Classroom site and take the InDesign pre-test.
  • Remember, this is a pre-test, so do your best to answer all the questions, but don’t worry if you don’t have all the answers. That’s what you’re here to learn.
  • Submit your test answers before the end of the class period today.
  • Make sure you mark the assignment as “Done” when you finish to confirm that you took the test.
  • Once you have completed the pre-test, the rest of the time is yours. Use it wisely, and enjoy a peaceful denouement (Look it up!) to the 2nd week of school!
  • Don’t forget there’s an I-Day on Monday! Keep an eye on your Microsoft Teams around 10am for Monday’s asynchronous activity, and complete it to make sure you get marked as “present” for the day!
  • Have a great weekend, and I’ll see you all in-person on Tuesday!

Haydenmagnet.org Accounts and Google Classroom 2023

Objective:

  • I can log into my Haydenmagnet.org Google Account with the login information provided to me and turn in an assignment using Google Classroom, so that I can successfully hand in assignments throughout the school year.

Assignment:

  • Open a Chrome browser and visit the Google website.
  • Click the blue Sign In button in the upper right corner.
  • Sign in with the Haydenmagnet.org account provided to you in your Computer Fundamentals or Computer Science class. If you do not remember your username or password from this account, or if you never took Computer Fundamentals or Computer Science, please see Mister Marmolejo to get your account information.
  • Open a new Window or Tab in Safari and navigate to https://classroom.google.com.
  • You should be able to log in and join the Classroom using the code provided in class. If you did not receive the code, please see Mr. Marmolejo.
  • Follow the in-class demonstration to learn how to navigate the Google Classroom environment, and click on your first assignment. You will learn how to create a Google Doc directly from the posted assignment.
  • In this document, write a couple of sentences to tell me about the most interesting thing you’ve learned during our past two weeks together. It can be anything you learned in this class: something about the room, about the class itself, about me or another member of the class, etc.
  • When you are finished, click the “Hand In” button in the upper right corner to submit the document to me for grading.
  • Submit your completed document using Google Classroom by tomorrow.
