Assignment:

  1. Follow along with the in-class demonstration.
  2. In your InDesign document, create two pages:
    • Page 1: Five different shapes with a different colored stroke and fill, placed on a new layer (Layer 2).
    • Page 2: Your name in 72pt type across the top of the page, and two columns of 12pt overflowed placeholder text (placed with the “Fill with Placeholder Text” command). All paragraphs should start with a 2-line Drop Cap, be Left Justified, and should be double-spaced (adjust the leading), have the tracking (space between letters), the text vertical width and horizontal height adjusted.
  3. When your document meets all the requirements, save it as “YOUR NAME – InDesign Day 2”
  4. Connect to the server and copy this document into the correct folder on the StudentsTempFiles volume. (StudentsTempFiles -> Marmolejo CGD 1-2 -> Student Drop Folder -> YOUR CLASS PERIOD -> 2.0 – InDesign Day 2

Intro to InDesign – Interface & Tools

Today we will begin learning about the Adobe software suite, and the properties of the InDesign page layout software.

Objective:

  • Identify and effectively use the Toolbar, Control Panels and default Palettes.
  • Produce and modify shapes and photo frames.
  • Place a picture into a photo frame using multiple techniques.

    2. one (1) picture of anything else (school appropriate!)
    3. Your name in 24pt type or larger
  3. Save the file as “Your Name – InDesign Day 1″ into folder number 1 – InDesign Day 1” in the appropriate subfolder of “Student Drop Folder” on the StudentsTempFiles volume.
