Intro to InDesign 2018 – Pages, Palettes and Layers

Objective:

  • Identify and effectively use the functions available in the default Palettes.
  • Create and modify shapes using the InDesign tools.
  • Create and modify layers using the Layers palette.
  • Effectively arrange objects using Layers.

Assignment:

  1. Follow along with the in-class demonstration, or watch the videos in the Links section above.
  2. In the same InDesign document that we created last week, use the Pages Palette to add an additional page:
    • Page 2: Draw five (5) different shapes with a different colored stroke and fill, placed on a new layer (Layer 2).
  3. When your document meets all the requirements, save it as “YOUR NAME – InDesign Week 1”
  4. We will continue working on this document throughout this week, and turn it in on Friday, August 24th.
