Assignment:

Welcome to my classroom website for Computer Graphic Design 1-2! This website will be your first stop for all classroom assignments, announcements and materials pertaining to the class.

  1. Take a look around! I’ll explain everything here today.
  2. I’ll give you an overview of how to use Microsoft Teams for this and all of your other classes. I’ll even share a few tips and tricks that your other classes might not have introduced you to!
  3. We’re also going to do one of those “getting to know you” activities. I know, you’re probably going to do something like this in every class today. Don’t worry, I’ll do my best to make it fun.
  4. Join the Microsoft Teams meeting via the invitation that I sent you, and let’s get started! Here’s to the start of what promises to be a great year! I can’t wait to meet you all virtually, and let’s look forward to a time when I can greet you in person again!

Color Theory: Exploring the Color Wheel and Color Harmonies

Objective:

To use the color wheel to identify and explain color theory terms and color harmonies.

Instructions:

Follow along with the in-class discussion on the color wheel and color definitions.

  1. After you have watched the tutorials, check out the color calculator to see an easy utility for calculating color harmonies based on a given color.
  2. Next, play the Color Game at the Method of Action website. Try to get the highest score possible for each of the Color Harmony levels.
  3. Take a screenshot (WindowsKey + Shift + S) of your highest score. You may replay the color game as many times as you wish to try and increase your final score.
  4. Upload your screenshot to today’s Google Classroom assignment post to complete today’s activity.
  5. The highest score in each class will win a prize!
