Design Reflection #3 – Impossible Images Project 2024

Objective:

I can reflect on what I have learned about Photoshop and InDesign and how effectively they were used in my most recent project.

Assignment:

  1. Connect to the Google Classroom site and click on the link to the Google Form at the bottom of the latest post.
  2. Use your completed Impossible Images design to answer the questions in the Google Form. Review the previous posts on Photoshop techniques if you need a refresher on what a particular tool or technique is called.
  3. You must have at least one complete sentence for each question in each prompt, but use as many sentences as you need to complete your short answer.
  4. Please be specific on each question as to what exactly you did on your banner design to represent each of the four principles.
  5. Once you have answered all the questions, click the Submit button at the bottom of the page. Do not click any other buttons or navigate away from the page before submitting your answers, or they may be erased. You may even wish to type your answers in a Google Doc or Word Document and then transfer them to the form.
  6. Once you have submitted your form, return to the Google Classroom assignment post, and click the Mark as Done button to mark this assignment as completed and ready for grading.

DIGITAL PHOTOGRAPHY: IMPOSSIBLE IMAGES 2024 – PART 2

Objective:

Students will be able to place their “impossible image” into InDesign for publication.

Assignment:

Over the past few days, we have tested our acquired Photoshop skills by fixing a Photoshop Disaster. Today, we are going to use our acquired Photoshop skills to create something entirely new, and completely impossible.  

  1. You should have completed the Impossible Image – Part 1 assignment before proceeding to this step. Save your image as a .psd file before importing it into InDesign.
  2. Create a new 11″ x 17″ InDesign document. Save it with your name and “Photoshop Impossible Image”.
  3. Place the Impossible Image Photoshop image on the page in a photo frame with a 1″ stroke. You may make the stroke whatever style or color you choose.
  4. Use the Type tool or the freehand brush tools to place your name (or signature) somewhere on the page. This is your original artwork, so you should sign it and be proud of it!
  5. Save the InDesign (.indd) file, then Export your file to .PDF format.
  6. Export the file as a High Quality Print format .PDF (File -> Adobe PDF Presets -> High Quality Print) and upload the resulting .PDF file to the “Impossible Images – Part 2” post on the Google Classroom page by the end of the day on Tuesday, November 20th.
