Welcome to our Adobe Photoshop unit! Photoshop is an incredibly powerful image creation and manipulation tool. One of the keys to mastering Photoshop is using the selection tools to select portions of an image to manipulate. Let’s get started with some basic tools and techniques to select portions of an image.

- Magic Wand Tool
- Quick Select Tool

- Select -> Inverse
Assignment:
For Wednesday:
Watch the video and use the techniques demonstrated, plus the Move Tool technique that we used yesterday to select and add the astronaut from the “spaceman.jpg” image and the moon buggy from the “moonbuggy.jpg” image to your Moon Party! Do you best to make sure each of the images has a clear background (no trace of white, black or the moon buggy’s lunar landscape background) so you can see the lunar surface behind them in your final image.
From Monday:
Using the tools and techniques demonstrated in the video and discussed in class, create a composite image using the Moon image as a background and the Astronaut, Alien and the Cheese. Make sure each of the images has no traces of a white or black background. Name your layers appropriately. Save your file as “YOURNAME Moon Party.psd” and place a copy in Folder #9 in the Student Drop Folder by Friday of this week.
